Omniview set out to create a space that celebrates Athens’ layered past while inviting modern sensibilities to flourish within its historic fabric. Our project, Opal, sits nestled in the heart of the city, a boutique hotel that resonates with the charisma of the mid-century heritage embedded in its original architecture. Every element of Opal’s design carefully balances timeless elegance with fresh, contemporary allure, giving guests an experience of Athenian luxury that honors the past yet feels remarkably modern.

Drawing on influences from Greek belle époque, modernism, and art deco, we meticulously curated each interior with a dedication to these iconic design movements. Every room and shared space reveals subtle references that guide guests through a visual narrative—polished lines echoing the clean aesthetics of mid-century design, warm-toned marbles inspired by Greece’s artisanal stonework, and sculptural lighting reminiscent of art deco’s bold forms.

For materials, we focused on sustainably sourced, locally available resources. Greek marble, with its timeless elegance, anchors the design, adding cohesion and grounding Opal in its local context. The palette exudes a sense of luxury that reflects mid-century Greek interiors, with brushed brass, dark-stained wood, and woven textures providing both tactile richness and a sense of nostalgia.

Opal is more than a hotel; it’s a tribute to Athens itself—a space that preserves its historic elegance while embracing a vision of forward-thinking design. As Omniview, we’re proud to present a new, refined interpretation of Athenian charm, where every detail has been thoughtfully designed to inspire, from the subtle echoes of heritage to the fresh strokes of modern artistry.
