Villa Kampani is one of the most historic properties of downtown Mykonos. Built in the 1850s, it was the house of the Mayor of Mykonos, after whom Akti Kampani (also known as “Gialos”) was named.
Architecturally unique, and quite rare for Mykonos, the house is a cross breed between standard Cycladic architecture and neoclassical building typology, that one would find in the center of Athens.
This has also been the greatest challenge in the design, but also the generator of our strategy: To be able to fuse the natural looking fluid forms of Cycladic design, with the more strict and elegant feel of neoclassical interiors.

The Cycladic feel has been pursued on all the ground elements, where we have gone for our avant garde Cycladic lines, in the form of screed concrete couches and table, and solid wood organically formed beds.

The neoclassical aesthetic is mainly represented by our meticulously handcrafted white fishbone roof. There is nothing that shouts neoclassical as much as fishbone, and by using it on the roof rather than the floor we believe the overall statement became more fashion forward.
The gorgeous antique kitchen was juxtaposed to an extremely minimal and modern kitchen design, and the bathrooms were treated with clean, simple Cycladic forms.
